Ghost of Election Past

No endorsement speaks more eloquently than track record of service.
A question a non-performing elective official seeking re-election (or a higher post) probably dreads is “What have you done during your term?” How can anyone make promises and be believed if one has broken so many? And how can another opportunity to serve be given if the previous trust has been so wasted?
Accomplishments, unlike platforms, cannot be claimed on vague terms. They should be real, substantiated, and objective; and because they are so, they cannot be claimed without basis. They speak of a candidate’s sincerity and dedication to service, which when competence lies equal, tilt the balance in favor of the true leaders.
